WAITING FOR WINTER. STILL.
Snow cannons are like angels in a fallow field, waiting for the frost to finally start working.
This year, the Viimsi glacier doesn't want to live up to its name, it just doesn't want to.
The good news is that Kuutsekas and Munakas were opened in Otepää on December 7th. This required quite a bit of defying the laws of nature from the snowmakers there, but the conditions are constantly improving.
This weekend, both Otepää centers are open:
Fri 14-20, Sat 10-19, Sun 10-18.
Vimka will start snowmaking as soon as the weather allows. In layman's terms, this means it should be at least -3°C cold, and there shouldn't be several days with temperatures significantly above freezing (like 3-5°C) following the cold.
Otherwise, all the work will literally go down the drain, and the only thing left will be the electricity bill.
In the meantime, keep your fingers crossed, heads up, and head to Otepää to enjoy winter there!
